Hello I am the Queen; it’s my job to populate the colony. I spend all day laying eggs, as you can see I am much bigger than the average ant so I don’t move around very much. My workers carry the eggs to the nursery and bring me juicy pieces of fungus to eat; they also clean up my droppings and take them to the dump chambers. I can live for up to twenty years. During my Nuptial Flight when I had my wings I did mate with a number of males to make sure I can keep producing eggs for such a long time.
