Conservation departments

Here at the National Conservation Centre we care for all of the National Museums Liverpool collections. There are over a million objects either on display or in storage. These range from tiny natural history specimens such as mounted humming birds right through to space rockets and steam engines.

Many of these items will need treatment at some point. They may be in danger of deteriorating, or may need cleaning before going on display. Our team of conservators have a range of specialist skills and experience. These, combined with the centre's state-of-the-art studios mean that our objects receive the highest quality of care available.
